TATTOO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Tattoo will be covered with a cling film once it’s finished. This will help to keep the fresh
tattoo clean, not rubbing against your clothes and prevent risks of infections. Take the film off
after 2-3 hours. - If the “second skin” is used instead of cling film, remove the second skin after 1-5 days.
Removing it under running water helps the process. - Wash the tattoo under running pure tap water. Cold water may help to soothe the skin for
the start. You can also use mild, non perfumed soap (Erisan, Sebamed). - Tap your tattoo dry with a fresh clean towel or paper cloth. Do not rub.
- Put on a thin layer of tattoo aftercare suitable lotion (such as Redemption, Bevita-R, Hustle
Butter, Easy Tattoo) - Do not use cortisone or any cream or lotion that you are not sure if they are suitable for
tattoo aftercare. These may irritate your skin and damage the tattoo. Consult your artistif not
sure.
DURING NEXT TWO WEEKS
- No sauna, swimming, hot tubs, solarium, tanning or rough and sweaty exercise. Keep the
wound as clean as possible. - Wash your tattoo about 3 times per day with warm/hot water. It opens up your skin pores
and helps the lotion to moisturize the tattoo better. Pat dry with a clean towel or paper. - Moisturize the tattoo after every time you have washed it. You can also moisturize it more
often if you feel the tattoo drying up. - You can protect the tattoo overnight with a clean cloth or medical band aid. Remember to
moisturize enough before going to sleep. - If the tattoo dries too much, it’s unnecessary just to put the lotion over the dried up tattoo.
Wash it first with warm or hot water to open up the pores. - After 4-7 days, your tattoo starts peeling and/or flaking. It’s completely normal and it’s
mostly dead skin and excess ink coming off. Do not pick it! - After this point, the tattoo may seem like it’s lighter than it should be. It may also have
some shininess to it. This will pass as the skin renews and the tones will get more saturated.
It may itch and you may slap it lightly. No scratching - For some sanitary reasons, such as working in a dirty environment, it’s okay to cover your
tattoo with cling film for short times. Ask your artist about it.
AFTER TWO WEEKS
- Once your skin is healed, there is no longer need for intensive washing and moisturizing.
Use some lotion after shower. At this point it can be any normal moisturizer. - Protect the tattoo from constant and direct sunlight for a month. Sun fades up the colors of
your tattoo, so use sunblock from now on. - Avoid any hard hits or rubbing to your tattooed area as it can damage the fresh tattoo.
- Tattoo will be fully healed after 4-6 weeks.
- We offer a 6 month guarantee if your tattoo loses ink or fades during the healing process.
This is not uncommon and usually will be a quick fix up. - If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your tattoo artist or the
studio!
